Kuranda Kneecare, Scar Release, Cupping and Brazilian Toe Massage

Welcome to Kuranda Kneecare.

In brief I offer you 15 years of knee & hip care regenerative-focused experience within my 37 years  Professional Career..

I have treated many folk aged 35 plus who limped, walked hesitantly or who walked with difficulty, bent over etc – If you have knee challenges I do not need to tell you what the experience is like.

Mary expressed after working with me she felt “the joy of walking with freedom and confidence”. I can assist you too, to also walk with freedom and confidence.

Most therapists address your muscles directly, release their tensions – and that’s it. But the tensions are back in a few days and so you go back for release again…

What I do differently is I firstly address your electrics – your nerves and get the signals and the brain feedback loop working more effectively. Fascia signals more functional. This brings blood into your muscles so that they can work more effectively and in the process tension is released. That having been accomplished, then I address muscles directly.
This is gentle, pain-free and effective remedial work that most clients enjoy.  My focus is on getting results.

So, What do I actually do?
Your are an individual – your treatment is according to your individual needs.
For some clients their knee challenges come from above, moving downwards from their hips / sacrum.
For some it is from ankle injuries and thus moves upwards to their knees. For some it is just physical knee injuries. For most it is a combination of all three in different ratios.

Firstly, I want to watch you walk to observe your posture, your sway, your stiffness, if you limp or any other observations that assist me.

Working with the focus on your knees I will most likely work with the neurolymphatic points in one or more of these areas , your sacrum, hips, knees, your calf muscles, your back and upper chest to assist you to release the tensions that will shift you towards flow and that freedom of movement or orthobionomy to release tight calf muscles. Mobilizing to increase flexibility.  As I see you respond to what I have done, I evaluate and know where to go next and what technique to use…
Depending on origins of your knee condition(s) I may focus initially on calf muscles release or getting more movement in your upper body – as I expressed above you are an individual and you receive a totally individual treatment.

How long is a session?
A session is generally 90 minutes and costs $170. How long it takes is according to your ability to respond (how well your neurals are working). Sometimes I may suggest that you go for a walk, sightseeing /rest and see you again in two hours when you have processed and integrated a part session – it is all very individual. Sometimes I finish a session earlier because your being has had its fill of change and needs to process. Each client is treated as an individual in a session that is specifically for them.

Getting here:
Most clients come by car or local bus
which gives plenty of time to explore and enjoy Kuranda. Others come by skyrail or train from Cairns which means that they have a very short day here. (Many return the next day by hire car or bus to explore further.)

I treat clients from all around Australia though most are from Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. For ongoing treatment I suggest that they periodically come to beautiful tropical Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas or Kuranda – the village in the rainforest for a three day weekend to have their treatment with me and to enjoy “Relaxing Tropical Time”. Fares can be as cheap as $69 on off peak and off season accommodation is very reasonable.
I suggest hiring a car to come to Kuranda or staying in Kuranda gives plenty of space and time to enjoy being in our beautiful tropics (Kuranda is 300m above sea level and thus cooler in summer.)

How may I help you?
My best suggestion is to give me a short call and brief me on you and we can go from there.

Blessings

Do you have scars that are painful, stiff, itch, burn, raised or uncomfortable?

This is the story of the healing of an unhealed scar.

This scar was created at age 15 as a surgery scar from repair of a broken bone. For 47 years it had been a raised, tight keloid scar that was hyper sensitive but numb to touch. It was painful when knocked.  Its healing began in November 2016.

The healing began with using light touch. When I was comfortable with this it then extended to various ‘proddings/ scrapings’ with a fingernail on a daily basis all around the scar BUT not directly on the scar.  The area around the scar became more and more relaxed. This evolved to gently squeezing around the scar.

Next cupping using the gentle soft bulb cup all around the scar to further and deeper release and soften the fascia and deeper adhesions.

When tightness, stiffness and pain had 90% disappeared and sensitivity had decreased considerably. I was comfortable that sufficient release had occurred and it was time to use a bigger cup to go deeper and release further. For this we used the soft blue cup. There were about six cuppings.

This is how it looked when the cup came off showing a lot of colour of ‘stagnent chi’ being drawn to the surface to be resolved. At this time the raised keloid nature of the scar is still evident.

Today the keloid nature of the scar has reduced to about one third. The colour of the scar is also closer to skin tone.
                         and
The scar is now pain-free, soft and pliable.

This  brief in The Art of Cupping is based on that you have either received cupping and thus have personal experience or you have researched cupping and thus have some concept of its possibilities for you .

I use four types of cups
(1) Glass Traditional Cups activated by flame (definitely my first choice for releasing, drawing, warming and doing lots of stuff modern cups don’t do)

(2) Modern Cups
–  flexible plastic (absolutely fantastic for cupping shoulders, elbows and knees – rounded shapes that other cups don’t fit)

(3) old style hard plastic (just the best for flash cupping and handy if I run short of cups – sometimes I use a lot)

(4)  glass cups with a suction bulb (superb for scars and stretch mark repair, treating cellulite, delicate spots and for beauty – face cupping – try it you will simply love the feeling)
In my own view I use all the cups both conservatively and with flair according to circumstance and condition I am working with.

Most people who use cups, do ‘static cupping’ – place the cups for a period of time and then remove the cups at the end of the session.

I use both static and mobile cups as I massage you with them using their capability to release, open, draw and expand; to release and repair fascia, release and open stuck muscles and to pull from the body stuck energy.

My clients so enjoy my practising the Art of Cupping Massage using modern flexible cups and traditional glass cups releasing long held tensions from their body, regaining flexibility and increasing their range of movement.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of giving cupping massage to my daughter who flew into Cairns and visited us. She was so pleased to leave so many tensions behind when she went home!

A word about: Hygiene with cups – glass and plastic

I wash my cups in citron, a citrus based detergent plus The Liquid Crystals “Balance Allign and Clear” cleansing them both physically and energetically and then rinsing thoroughly in running clear water.  This leaves them very clear and clean.

Always ask a practioner if they wash their cups and what procedure they use – you would be shocked to learn some do not wash their cups between clients.

Brazilian Toe Massage

Brazilian Toes Massage is technically “Toe Holding”.  Traditionally each toe is held in a sequence for three minutes in a specific sequence such that the whole sequence takes fifteen minutes.  It is incredibly relaxing!Experience has taught me that very stressed clients often benefit from having three repetitions of the sequence (45minutes). It is common for a very relaxed receiver to go to sleep, awaking deeply relaxed.
